Day 1: Day 1: Cairo – St. Catherine
The tour guide from Cairo Private Tours will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo Or Giza at noon. You’ll travel the seven hours to St. Catherine town in air-conditioned comfort, enjoying views of the rugged desert and Red Sea coast. Here you’ll check into your 4-star hotel, enjoy dinner, and get some rest before the early morning climb. Day 2: Day 2: St. Catherine – Cairo
The day begins at 2 am when you’re collected from your hotel for the short drive to Mount Sinai where a local Bedouin guide will guide you along the path that ascends the sacred mountain. It can get surprisingly cold on Mount Sinai at many times of the year, so do bring warm layers: hot drinks and snacks are available on the trail, as are camels if you get tired. You’ll summit in time to watch the sunrise over the rugged landscape around Mount Sinai, perhaps in the very spot where Moses received the Ten Commandments, then walk back down, returning around 7 am. Here a qualified Egyptologist guide will accompany you to St. Catherine’s Monastery, built at the foot of the sacred mountain during the sixth century, and the oldest monastery that’s still being used for its original purpose. He’ll explain the story of St. Catherine, a Christian martyr tortured to death in Alexandria for her faith. Once you’re finished at the monastery, you’ll have breakfast at your hotel and drive back to Cairo or Giza Hotel, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening. – Cairo Private Tours does not charge a cancellation fee for tours and excursions canceled for ‘force majeure’ reasons such as volcanoes, earthquakes, or reasons beyond control. If cancellation happens due to personal or business reasons and Cairo Private Tours has already incurred costs on your behalf, these costs will be transferred to you.

Started with an on time arrival at our location on the Corniche followed by an exceptionally well planned day seeing the highlights in Alexandria. Really knowledgeable about history and answered all our questions at the sites we visited and even sights we didn’t. He took us to places we would have never found in our own and shared very specific details from various scholars and archaeologists. Our Seafood lunch was very tasty and a nice time to relax. Comfortable vehicle and he always found good parking. I will be recommending Tarek to all my friends!
