The second stop will be at Pompey’s Pillar, the centerpiece of Pompey’s Pillar is the pillar itself, a remarkable structure crafted from a single piece of red granite. This colossal column stretches an impressive 20.75 meters in length, with a base width of 2.70 meters and a crown width of 2.30 meters. In its entirety, including the base, the pillar stands at a towering height of approximately 27 meters.

Constructed in 298 AD, this monumental pillar stands as one of the largest memorial columns ever erected in history, serving as a tribute to the esteemed Roman Emperor Diocletian. This fact is evident from the inscription of Diocletian’s name, prominently displayed on the western side of the pillar’s base.

Flanking Pompey’s Pillar on both the left and right sides are two magnificent statues of sphinxes, also hewn from red granite stone. 

The 3rd stop will be The Graeco-Roman Museum in Alexandria, which was built in 1892 and opened in 1895 and has recently reopened after a thorough restoration process that lasted nearly twenty years. The museum houses 10,000 artifacts discovered at archaeological sites in Alexandria and showcases the cultural influence of ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Coptic, and Byzantine civilizations.
