Welcome to the surreal landscapes of the White and Black Deserts near Cairo! These unique natural wonders boast stunning rock formations, chalk-white hills, and volcanic rocks that will leave you in awe. Camping here offers a magical experience under the starry skies that you won’t soon forget.
Departing from your hotel in Giza or Cairo at 6:00 am, You will embark on a journey to Bahariya Oasis in the Western Desert of Egypt, approximately 370 km away from Cairo. The drive will take about 4 hours, with stops along the way for restroom breaks and coffee.
Upon arrival at 10:00 am, you will be greeted with a 4×4 Jeep to explore the captivating Black Desert. At noon, a delicious lunch will be served at El Haize Oasis.
Continuing our adventure, we will then drive to the Valley of Agabat, arriving at 1:00 pm. Nestled deep within the White Desert of Egypt, this location boasts otherworldly beauty, with unique rock formations formed millions of years ago when the area was submerged under the sea.
At 4:30 pm, we will explore the White Desert National Park, Egypt’s most renowned desert destination. As the sun begins to set at 5:30 pm winter time and 6:30 pm summer time, we will set up tents and bask in the beauty of the changing sky, enjoying a simple yet satisfying meal of chicken, rice, and vegetables around a small fire.
As the sky transitions from pink to fiery orange, the rock formations will fade into the background, leaving only the serene silence of the desert. Bedouin staff will then arrange for dinner and a night of desert camping, providing an unforgettable experience under the stars.
Witness the breathtaking sunrise at 6:00 am before indulging in a delicious breakfast in the desert at 7:00 am. Following breakfast, embark on a journey to Bahariya Oasis at 9:00 am.
During the return trip, make a stop at Crystal Mountain, also known as Gebel al-Izzaz. This stunning crystal hill, often referred to as the Jewel of the desert, is composed of quartzite crystals that glisten in the sunlight. This natural wonder was discovered by chance several decades ago.
At 11:00 am, continue the drive to Bahariya Oasis and unwind at Bir Sigam, a rejuvenating hot spring located 7 km east of Bahariya on the Cairo road. This hot spring boasts the perfect temperature for relaxation.
Finally, depart for Cairo at noon and arrive back in the city at 4:30 pm.

Started with an on time arrival at our location on the Corniche followed by an exceptionally well planned day seeing the highlights in Alexandria. Really knowledgeable about history and answered all our questions at the sites we visited and even sights we didn’t. He took us to places we would have never found in our own and shared very specific details from various scholars and archaeologists. Our Seafood lunch was very tasty and a nice time to relax. Comfortable vehicle and he always found good parking. I will be recommending Tarek to all my friends!
